Four college students of a non-public nursing school right here had been arrested on Thursday for slapping a junior scholar whereas indulging in ragging. According to police, Rizwan (20), haling from Kollam in neighbouring Kerala had returned to the faculty on September 20, after rest of Covid-19 restrictions and was staying within the males’s hostel.
On September 27, a bunch of 13 college students barged into his room and began ragging him and slapped him. Though he lodged a criticism, the faculty administration didn’t take any motion towards the culprits. Rizwan went to his hometown and narrated the ordeal to his mother and father, who admitted him to a hospital to deal with his accidents. The boy’s mother and father then got here to Coimbatore on Wednesday and lodged a criticism with the police towards the scholars.
Based on the criticism, police arrested 4 college students and launched them on bail and search was on for 9 others.
