The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Thursday demanded the ‘Bhagavad Gita‘ be declared the nationwide e book of India and its teaching-learning made obligatory throughout all ranges of training within the nation “to stop the eroding of values”. “It is because of our faulty education system. We demand that the government must make teaching-learning of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita compulsory across all levels of education to stop the eroding of values. It should be made part of the curriculum,” VHP nationwide secretary Acharya Radha Krishna Manodi instructed a press convention.

He stated academics together with these belonging to minority communities also needs to be made to check the Bhagavad Gita and the teaching-learning of all of the 18 chapters be made part of the academics’ coaching curriculum to allow them to instill moral values and sense of obligation in college students.

Education on the Bhagavad Gita should be made compulsory for all the teachers in India including those belonging to Muslim and Christian communities,” Manodi, who heads the Vishva Gita Sansthan of the VHP, stated.

To promote values and a robust sense of obligation amongst bureaucrats, the VHP chief stated programmes on studying of the Bhagavad Gita needs to be organised on the authorities establishments each fortnight.

“The promotion of reading of Bhagavad Gita can protect the social, cultural and spiritual values of our country, end divisions in our society and make India much more stronger. We demand the Bhagavad Gita be declared the national book of India,” he stated
