Former Union minister and BJP MP Babul Supriyo, who converted to West Bengal’s ruling TMC in a shock transfer, on Sunday mentioned life has now opened a brand new avenue for him from the prospect of being “retired damage” from public affairs. Supriyo also said he has nothing to prove to anybody, and he has been involved in politics from the grassroots level since becoming an MP in 2014 on a BJP ticket from Asansol.
“Life has opened a new avenue for me from the prospect of being retired hurt from public life,” Supriyo mentioned, addressing a press convention on the Trinamool Congress headquarters right here. “I obtained lots of love and help from a celebration (TMC) with which I had a really tumultuous relationship,” he said.
Blowing hot and cold for several weeks after being dropped from the Narendra Modi government, the BJP MP sprang a surprise on Saturday when he joined the TMC and asserted he will work for the development of the state.
Supriyo said that everything happened in the last three days. “I said it several times that I will leave politics from core of my heart. There is no politics of revenge. I’m very excited to start work in the TMC. Leaving politics wasn’t a drama.”
A two-term MP from Asansol, he had earlier declared he’ll give up politics, earlier than being persuaded by the BJP management to proceed as a Lok Sabha member.
