Calling his dialog with Mamata Banerjee ‘musical’, Supriyo stated, “I am very happy with the affection and warmth, she welcomed me to the Trinamool family. She urged me to work hard and also sing during Durga Pujas. We had a very musical talk. I am waiting for my role in the party which will be decided by Mamata Banerjee. I am very happy that the West Bengal CM is keeping faith in me. My role will be decided by Didi. I will be able to work feely now.”
“We discussed many other topics including music. She told me to sing in Durga Puja,” Supriyo stated, after her assembly with Mamata Banerjee. Trinamool National common secretary Abhisek Banerjee and Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’brien additionally attended the assembly.
“I have sought time from the Speaker today. I will submit my resignation as MP to the Speaker on Wednesday in New Delhi. I have already written a letter and given up my security,” Supriyo stated, who joined Trinamool Congress on Saturday.
“I have met her several times before and we share a cordial relationship. The last meeting was at Victoria Memorial during the anniversary of Netaji Subhas Bose, where she sat beside me, and was enquiring about the musical instruments being played on the stage. She has great interest in music,” he stated.
