New Zealand abandons tour of Pakistan citing safety risk


New Zealand is visiting Pakistan for the primary time in 18 years to play three one-day internationals and 5 Twenty20matches

The New Zealand cricket workforce on Friday deserted its ongoing tour of Pakistan earlier than the beginning of the primary ODI right here, citing a safety risk, which the host board asserted didn’t exist.

The PCB stated that the safety officers with the New Zealand workforce have been glad with safety preparations made by the hosts all through their keep right here.

“PCB is willing to continue the scheduled matches.

“However, cricket lovers in Pakistan and around the world will be disappointed by this last minute withdrawal. is in danger of being cancelled after the first match of the ODI series could not begin on time on Friday at the Pindi stadium,” it added.

The sequence was to comprise three ODIs and 5 T20 Internationals.
