The Tamil Nadu authorities will bear the tutoring charges amongst others of scholars enrolling in skilled programs within the State beneath the 7.5% quota in skilled programs, Chief Minister M Okay Stalin mentioned on Monday. 

The Tamil Nadu authorities had final month set aside 7.5 per cent reservation on “preferential basis” to state authorities college college students for his or her admissions to engineering, agriculture, veterinary, legislation and different skilled diploma programs provided in authorities, aided and personal establishments.

 Handing over admission orders to 50 engineering aspirants right here to mark the rollout, Stalin mentioned 10,000 authorities college college students aspiring for engineering programs would profit from the reservation within the present educational 12 months whereas 350 others would enter agriculture, veterinary, fishery and legislation programs.

 “The government has come forward to bear the tuition fees, hostel fees and even counselling fees for students of government schools entering professional colleges via the 7.5 per cent quota,” the chief minister mentioned. 

The reservation was a part of the ruling DMK’s try to make sure high quality greater training for college students finding out in state-run colleges, particularly in rural areas, Stalin added. 

Students who had studied from lessons 6 to eight in such colleges will profit from the brand new quota, he mentioned.
