Clint Bowyer, a former NASCAR racer and current Fox Sports pundit, hit and killed a person on a highway exit
ramp in southwest Missouri earlier this month, according to police. According to a crash report from Lake Ozark
police, the accident happened on a ramp off of U.S. 54 in Osage Beach, Missouri, on June 5. Bowyer, a native
of Emporia, Kansas, came to a complete stop after the crash and dialled 911, according to authorities.
Mary Jane Simmons, 47, of Camdenton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bowyer displayed no signs of intoxication
according to the crash report, and offered a roadside blood sample that showed no trace of alcohol. According to
the police statement, a crystalline substance was discovered among the woman's possessions, and neighbours at the
recreational vehicle park where she was living claimed they suspected she was under the influence of drugs.
Bowyer retired in 2020 after a 15-year career in which he won 10 Cup Series races. He's been a big hit in the Fox Sports
