Coco Gauff On July 24, a day before the ATP-only Atlanta Open begins, the WTA will host an exhibition match

featuring two of their best North American players, dubbed "The Sunday Showdown. Gauff and Fernandez will compete

in what has become a yearly event, with several North American WTA stars including as Venus Williams, Sloane Stephens

and Madison Keys entertaining spectators in a fun atmosphere. Despite the fact that Fernandez is recovering

from foot surgery after a fracture at the French Open, the 2021 US Open runner-up has already committed

to competing in the Citi Open Washington event this summer, which runs from July 30-August 7, 2022. Gauff, who is from Atlanta

will compete in front of her hometown crowd for the first time since her meteoric rise to fame a few years ago

Gauff is a formidable grass court player who earned her name by defeating Venus Williams twice at Wimbledon.

The adolescent has considerably improved since then, and today was a fairly solid outing on the surface that

officially introduced her to the world. In the first set, she did not  allow a single break point, owing to her excellent serving.
