Dejounte Murray According to Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report, the Spurs and Hawks are still discussing a
possible trade that would see All-Star guard Dejounte Murphy move to Atlanta. Fischer said that San Antonio and Atlanta
had been discussing Murray prior to last week’s draft. It appears those conversations didn’t stop when the
draft ended. Fischer reported that John Collins was being discussed as part of a package. However, Zach Klein from
WSB-TV Atlanta tweeted that sources within the NBA believed that the Hawks were working on a Murray deal.
This would have Danilo Gallinari plus multiple first-round picks. Fischer also said via Twitter that he had heard the
same whispers. Collins will continue to be under contract for four additional seasons at $25MM per year, while Gallinari's
contract is partially guaranteed and will expire after the 2022/23 season. The Spurs may be more interested
in the future than Collins, and they might value cap flexibility and the chance to draft picks. A package that does
not include Collins and is heavy in draft picks would be more in line with the "Jrue Holiday" return Fischer stated last
week that the Spurs wanted. In that Holiday deal, the Pelicans got three first-rounders and two pick swaps with Milwaukee.
