Ana de Armas will play the role of "Some Like It Hot," in the adaptation Joyce Carol Oates 2000 book. There was controversy

over de Armas' casting of the iconic actress. Oates also used the film's material to tell the fictionalized story of Monroe's life

through abusive relationships. De Armas was cast as Norma Jeane in 2019. The film had been originally scheduled for a

2021 release. Since then, the Netflix film was moved to September 23, 2022. After nearly a decade of trying, director

Dominik chose de Armas to play the lead role. According to reports, Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain were attached

to the film. It was currently in development since 2010. De Armas was offered the role in 2019. As real-life characters in Monroe's

story, Adrien Brody and Bobby Cannavale also star. Rumours of "Blonde," which is NC-17 rated, have caused a stir.

They rumored that the film featured sex scenes with Bond girl de Armas and the transformation of Monroe into a silver

screen legend. According to Netflix, the NC-17 rumors are true. The film has been rated "for some sexual content."
