NBA Draft I'll let you in on a little NBA Draft secret; it takes place this year on Thursday. We who have lived a while are not

supposed to speak. So keep it a secret. Get a little nearer. They don't really know what they're doing. It shouldn't come as a

huge surprise, though. How is anyone supposed to predict what a teenager or someone who just turned 20 should be 

while competing against mature males, say, five years from now, when their body and intellect are still developing? No one 

truly can, despite the fact that fans and the media, in particular, like to  exploit this as an excuse for all of their own biases. They

should be aware because it's part of their work. Not me. So all scouts  behave in this way, and you shouldn't really hold it 

against them. All winter long, they travel, seeing players and watching tapes  before comparing viewpoints. They then create those one-to-ten

lists and, whisper it, wink it, share them. How else can you account for the fact that every mock draught is essentially 

in the same order? How is it possible that so many people, from so many different origins, races, religions, and cultures, can provide
