Nick Leddy of the St. Louis Blues is a fan favourite. However, as I stated in my lead, Leddy is unlikely to return to St. Louis.
The Blues should pay more attention to Leddy. He just finished the final year of a seven-year, $5.5 million deal.
Of course, due of his "Minnesota connection" with his fellow Minnesotans, there's a chance he'll stay in the Midwest.
I'm not sure, though. The Blues may seek to get a physical defenceman who can make big shots. "How about Scott
Perunovich? you inquire. Perunovich is a restricted free agent who is presently 23 years old. He recently signed a two-year
$4.35 million deal with the team. On August 18th, he will become 24 years old. I'm not ready to give up on a rookie
defensemen just yet. On May 23rd, he ended a three-game postseason losing streak against the Colorado Avalanche
in Game 4. In 12:23 of ice time, he had one point, a power-play assist, and a -2 rating. I'm not going to get into plus/minus
but the Blues benched him in the final two games of the series when their power play was scoreless. The Blues,
I feel, were in desperate need of defence. Colton Parayko and Marco Scandella's contracts are unlikely to be
terminated anytime soon in St. Louis. In 2022-23, Parayko will begin an eight-year, $52 million contract.
