Could Andres Cubas get his MLS debut for Vancouver Whitecaps FC against Cascadian rival Seattle Sounders FC at Lumen Field

tonight (10:30 p.m. ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+) The Paraguayan international will not start for the Whitecaps, but will be

available off the bench, according to head coach Vanni Sartini. Sartini believes that integrating the defensive midfielder

with his new teammates is more vital, and that this trip, albeit brief, will help with that.He played two games with his national

team last week, but he had a month off before that and had a long travel, so you know, he's a little tired," Sartini said

after training Monday. He's growing used to it, but it's critical that  he joins us on the trip. We don't know if he'll

play a lot or not but he'll try to fit in with the group and learn about MLS, so it'll be a crucial trip for him.

Vancouver signed the 26-year-old from Nimes, France, to a four-year  Designated Player contract in late April. He spent time in

Argentina with Talleres, Defensa y Justicia, and Boca Juniors before joining Ligue 2. Sartini said, "We know he's a very talented player

he's good technically, and he's very good at winning the ball back, so  those are all traits that will be vital to improving our team
